Khalid Alagel, President and Founder of Gulf Care Group, began his entrepreneurial career in 1993 by advising several U.S. based businesses on marketing their pharmaceutical and healthcare equipment in the Gulf region.
In 1999, Khalid brought a family member for treatment in Chicago, and encountered firsthand the experience of being a patient far from home. This led to the founding of Gulf Care International, an arm of Gulf Care Group that bridges healthcare between Chicago based hospitals and the Gulf region.
Khalid studied at the University of Wisconsin. He is a Founding Board Member of The Kovler Diabetes Center Leadership Board at the University of Chicago Medicine and is an active member of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. Khalid lives in Chicago with his family.
Mark Azar, Director at Gulf Care International, started working with Gulf Care International in 2007. In 2009, he transitioned over to help run Healthcare Language Services, a medical interpreting and Gulf Care Group company. After a short stint elsewhere, Mark returned to Gulf Care in 2013.
Mark received his bachelor's of art from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. His master's of art in International Studies, with a concentration in international relations, is from DePaul University in Chicago.
Mark currently resides with his wife in Chicago.
Ahmed Afify, Director at Gulf Care International, started working for Gulf Care in 2009. In that time, Ahmed has developed the patient and family services department at Gulf Care, covering all aspects of non-medical and personal needs. Prior to coming to the U.S., Ahmed graduated from the Egyptian Naval College with a degree in Naval Science.
Ahmed lives in Chicago with his two daughters.
Wasim Alghoul is the Patient & Family Services Liaison for Gulf Care International. He moved to the United States in 2006, after completing dental school in Tunisia. Wasim first worked for Healthcare Language Services as a medical interpreter. He then moved into his current role at Gulf Care International.
Wasim lives with his wife and two children in Chicago.
